SlingPlayer Options

• Video - use these to tell SlingPlayer whether to use Video Mixing Renderer (VMR) technology, as well as to set the best balance between network usage and picture quality. (That's for home viewing only. When you're watching your TV away from home, the SlingPlayer technology called SlingStream calculates the best picture for you given available network capacity.)
  
• Encoding - you'll probably never have to use these options, unless you'd like to have advanced control over the way SlingPlayer displays the TV image for you. You can change parameters like resolution, frame rate, audio bit rate, and so on.
  
• Connection - most users won't need to touch these settings either. They're for directing SlingPlayer to use a proxy server when it acccess the web. For those who are using SlingPlayer behind a firewall, or who have other connection issues, this option can make the difference between watching your TV ... and seeing a blank screen.
  
• Preferences - these are the SlingPlayer Options that you're likely to use the most. The options in this dialog box control various warnings, auto-updates, how your Slingbox should work when you launch it, language settings, and more.
